Manufacturing Process

Research and development is at the core of the manufacturing process. Pollite have designed a revolutionary method of manufacture to ensure our masts are fully frangible. The Pollite mast is unlike any other fibreglass mast in its composition and careful control of the manufacturing process ensures every mast is ICAO compliant.

The base raw materials used in the manufacture of the mast, glass, resin and gel coat are sourced from European manufacturers who are all ISO registered. Our glass is woven to our own specific requirement and our gel coat has an additional UV inhibitor to prevent deterioration in colour of the main mast.

Fibreglass offers the following important benefits for this specific application and to ensure your frangible masts are:

  • Lightweight
  • Easy to Install
  • UV resistant
  • Environmentally Durable
  • Resistant to Extremes of Temperature
  • Non Corrosive
  • No Wind Fatigue
  • No Magnetic Interference
  • Non Conductive

Installation Considerations

The Pollite mast has been designed for simple installation. The mast is pre-cut to the exact height required and the component parts, including cross arm, can be pre-assembled in the factory to speed up installation if required. Pollite work with you to your specifications and requirements to ensure that the process is hassle free.

The mast can be reduced in height on site if required without affecting it’s frangibility whilst an additional 110mm of upward adjustment is available with the light height adjusters.
